The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office is asking for help after Iron Range ATM Theft
On 2/2/2026 the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office was notified of an overnight theft of cash from an ATM on the Iron Range. On January 25, 2026, Darrin John Tiessen (DOB: 04/16/1990) was booked into the St. Louis County Jail by the Sheriff’s Office for an active arrest warrant. The warrant was issued by the Sixth Judicial District Court after Mr. Tiessen failed to appear in a previous court hearing. On December 6, 2025, at approximately 5:50AM Travis Timothy White DOB 10/1/1983 was detained by members of Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force during a traffic stop in the City of Hibbing. Jury Convicts Buhl Man of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a 14-year-old
On November 26th, 2025, a jury found Michael Alvin Wesala, 43, guilty of two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct in the Second Degree, announced St. Louis County Attorney Kim Maki.
