Vehicle vs Pedestrian Crash in LaPrarire

The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the call of a vehicle versus pedestrian crash that occurred at Highway 2 and Fraser Street in Itasca County in the town of LaPraire. According to the Minnesota State Patrol accident report, the vehicle, a Volkswagen was traveling westbound on Highway 2 when it struck a pedestrian in the center turn lane. The driver of the vehicle 33 year old Lacey Ramberg suffered non life threatening injuries involved in the crash. The pedestrian identified as Maurice Mobely, 41 years old suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to St Mary’s Hospital in Duluth. According to the Minnesota State Patrol alcohol was not a factor in the crash and the roads were dry at the time of the crash. The Minnesota State Patrol were assisted on scene by Itasca County Sheriff’s Office, Grand Rapids Police Department, Grand Rapids Fire Department and North Memorial Ambulance.
