Two Facing Charges Following Stabbing in Virginia

Early Friday morning, at approximately 1:19 a.m., the Virginia Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at 600 N. 3rd Avenue in the City of Virginia. 

Upon arrival, officers determined that the incident had escalated into a stabbing between individuals known to each other. A 29-year-old male sustained a stab wound to the lower back, allegedly inflicted by his 19-year-old girlfriend.

The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Essentia Health–Virginia Emergency Room and transported by the Virginia Fire Department Ambulance Service.

Following the investigation, the male victim is facing Misdemeanor Domestic Assault charges under Minnesota Statute 609.2242, Subdivision 1(2). The female suspect was booked into the St. Louis County Jail in Virginia on charges of Second-Degree Assault under Minnesota Statute 609.222, Subdivision 2.
