There will be a scheduled temporary road closure of 2nd Avenue in Virginia, MN between 8th Street South and 10th Street South. This closure coincides with the construction of the new Virginia Public Safety Center to be located on the corner of 8th Street South and 2nd Avenue. Construction crews will be connecting utility lines for the new facility to existing water and sewer structures. This temporary road closure of 2nd Avenue is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 26, 2024 and finish on or before September 16, 2024. This segment of the 2nd Avenue roadway will be closed through this entire period. During this closure, traffic will be detoured through the neighboring streets. We ask that you please follow the detour signage that will be installed to help minimize the impact to the residential neighborhoods.
