Itasca County Board of Commissioners Update: October 8th 2024

The Itasca County Board of Commissioners met for their 2nd Tuesday regular session board meeting yesterday Tuesday October 8th at the Itasca County Courthouse boardroom. Commissioner John Johnson and active chair of the board called the meeting to order at 230. The approval of the agenda, last meeting minutes, and consent agenda were all motioned and approved as written during the meeting. No citizen input was presented. Administrator Skyles presented to the board new county employees, expressed far ware for employees leaving the county as well as highlighted county employees that met major milestones in their careers such as 5, 10,15-,20-,25- and 30-year achievements. There was also a presentation to the board from Lights on Afterschool, an afterschool program made up of 20 partners in the county that use networking and resources collaboratively to have high quality after school programming for school aged youth in Itasca County. And the board heard from members of AEOA and Grace House in discussion in regard to National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. The next scheduled meeting of the Itasca County Board of Commissioners will be taking place in a work session meeting next Tuesday Oct 15th starting at 230 in the Itasca County Courthouse boardroom.
