Grand Rapids Crash involving an Itasca County Deputy

The Minnesota State Patrol responded to a 2 vehicle crash on Monday Oct 7th around 6 in the morning in the city of Grand Rapids. A 2024 Chevy Silverado was travelling eastbound on US Hwy 2 approaching the 8th Avenue intersection. While entering the intersection, the Silverado collided with an Itasca County Sheriff’s Office squad car in a T-Bone style crash. Airbags were deployed in both vehicles and both the driver of the Chevy Silverado and the Itasca County Deputy driving the Chevy Tahoe squad car suffered non life threatening injuries. Alcohol is not considered to be a factor in the crash and according to the Minnesota State Patrol the roads

were dry at the time of the crash. The Minnesota State Patrol were assisted on scene by Grand Rapids Police Department, Grand Rapids Fire Department and North Memorial Ambulance.
