Writer: Tony SchmidTony Schmid

A driver was transported to a local hospital following a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Hibbing. At 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, a vehicle driven by a 27-year-old male from Hibbing was stopped in the eastbound lane of Hwy. 37 at Lauhala Road, waiting to make a left hand turn, when it was struck by a vehicle being driven by a 39-year-old female, also from Hibbing. The driver of the first vehicle was transported to Fairview Range Medical Center to be treated for what law enforcement determined to be non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the second vehicle also sustained non-life threatening injuries, but was not transported, according to the report. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Airbags were deployed on the second vehicle. Alcohol was not involved for either driver. This story is curtesy of the Mesabi Tribune.
