Domestic Assault in Virginia Leads to High Speed Chase

On Tuesday evening, the Saint Louis County Dispatch received a report of a domestic disturbance in the 900 block of 9th Street North in Virginia. The female caller stated that she was attempting to escape from a male individual who was pursuing her and allegedly attempted to strike her with his vehicle. The two had reportedly been on a date earlier that evening. Officers from the Virginia Police Department located the suspect vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The driver fled at high speeds, southbound on 6th Avenue South and abandoned the vehicle near the 900 block of 11th Street South.
With assistance from the Saint Louis County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect, a 33-year-old male, was apprehended near the 1000 block of 13th Street South. He was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant and is currently being held at the Saint Louis County Jail pending formal booking for Felony Terroristic Threats, Felony Second-Degree Assault, Felony Fleeing a Peace Officer in a Motor Vehicle, and Misdemeanor Domestic Assault.
