City Council Meeting Updates


Nashwauk City Council Meeting 9-10-2024

The Nashwauk City Council met for their regular scheduled city council meeting on Tuesday September 10th. At the meeting, discussions centered around the potential discontinuation of local ambulance services. Concerns from the community have grown due to the impact this could have on emergency response times, especially in rural areas. The council has not made a final decision, but the next major meeting on this topic is scheduled for November 28. Many residents are urging the city to explore other funding solutions before cutting the service, as it serves a vital role in the region.






Cohasset City Council Meeting 9-10-2024

The Cohasset City Council met for their regular scheduled City Council meeting on Tuesday September 10th. During the meeting several important decisions and updates were made. The council approved two payments to Casper Construction for ongoing work related to the 2024 Industrial Park mass grading. They also addressed the city’s fire department operations, noting that there were 90 calls in the first quarter, mostly medical, with some mutual aid requests. Additionally, the council discussed the need for replacement of radio equipment due to wear and tear and endorsed the participation of city clerks in the Minnesota Clerks Institute Training. Lastly, the council agreed to purchase gas piping fuse equipment for city use.






Harris Township Board Meeting 9-11-2024

The Harris Township Board held its regular scheduled Town Board meeting on Wednesday September 11 at the Harris Town Hall. Meeting was called to order at 730 and pledge of allegiance was recited. The Harris Town Board strives to enhance the quality of life, protect the environment, and maintain economic sustainability for the residents of their community. August and September meeting minutes were motioned and approved. No additions and corrections were made to the agenda. The consent agenda was read and approved. Madam Chair received complaints regarding about traffic and speed usage of construction traffic on airport road. Letter was voted and approved by the board. The next scheduled board meeting of Harris Township is scheduled for September 25th at 730 at the Harris Town Hall. You can view the full meeting online.
