AITKIN-ITASCA-MILLE LACS VIOLENT CRIMES ENFORCEMENT TEAM

On October 2nd, 2024 Aitkin-Itasca-Mille Lacs Violent Crime Enforcement Team Agents and Aitkin  County Sheriff’s Deputies executed search warrants in Hazelton Township in Aitkin County. 

As a result over 200 fentanyl pills and several grams of fentanyl powder was seized. Arrested on charges  of 1st Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance was, Yolanda Armendariz, age 28 of Aitkin. Criminal  charges are pending for additional persons related to this offense.  Armendariz is also on probation status from a 2023 criminal conviction of 2nd Degree Drugs (fentanyl)  and multiple counts of child endangerment relating to the near overdose death of a 2 year old in  Hazelton Township.  The AIM VCET requests that if any citizens in the three county coverage area have concerns or  information regarding ongoing criminal activity involving drugs or violent crimes to please  contact their local dispatch centers or the AIM VCET office at 218-927-7449.
