During Monday’s Grand Rapids City Council meeting a public hearing on the Small Cities Development Program was held to qualify the city for grants. Mayor Dale Adams explains the project is looking for 6 businesses and up to 27 homes or rental units that are looking for a facelift thru the SCDP and the Department of Employment and Economic Development. In other action the city council approved accepting a donation of over $34,000 for the Pokegama Golf Course Restroom Project; adopted a resolution calling for a public hearing on the Crystal Lake Boulevard Reconstruction Project; accepted a letter of resignation from Grand Rapids Fire Chief Steve Flaherty and approved an amendment to the Mutual Aid Agreement with Cohasset for shared cemetery sextant services.
