A one vehicle accident sent one person to the hospital and totaled two vehicles. Around 2:30 Tuesday morning, a vehicle was driving south on Pokegama Avenue in Grand Rapids at speeds reaching 70 miles an hour when it crossed over in the center lane. The vehicle continued into the northbound shoulder- crashing into a Mustang convertible that sat at a Grand Rapids car dealership. The Mustang was then pushed backwards into a light pole. The 2017 Black Mustang convertible was demolished in the accident. The suspect vehicle contained two occupants. The driver was uninjured. The passenger complained of chest pains and was transported to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital. The driver is expected to be charged today. Alcohol is believed to be involved.
