I grew up in the shadow of Lake Minnetonka, so living in Grand Rapids
seems pretty familiar.
I was attending Bemidji State University when a friend took the
introduction to radio class and suggested I join her. I like to
talk and apparently people make a living at it. I was
hooked.
My first job was 6 to midnight playing country (country AND western)
music. I worked at KKBJ-AM, KBUN-AM, KOZY-AM, WNMT-AM and back to
KOZY in 1995!
I’ve worked as News Director, Account Representative, on-air
personality, commercial clearance, billing and most recently as Program
Director.
But it’s working on air that I really love. You know how
listening to a piece of music can transport you back to a certain place
and time? Well, I try to do that for my audience while we listen
to the music together. Even if it’s a song you’ve heard a
thousand times, I hope to bring you a new way to look at the song or
the artist.
