Kole Kalisch brought home the winning run to give Taconite the lead in the seventh inning, as Taconite hung on to beat Proctor 4-1 on Wednesday.
Joe LaDoux singled to get on base in the seventh. He then went from first to second on a sacrifice bunt by Tyler Peterson.
An intentional walk to Shea and a walk to Matt Wilcox loaded the bases for Taconite in the seventh. Kalisch delivered an RBI single to right that plated two runs and gave the visitors a 2-1 lead. Kadin Kalisch followed with a run scoring single to make it 3-1. Kole Kalisch stole home on the backend of a double steal to make it 4-1.
Shea put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for Taconite. He doubled in the first and third innings and singled in the fifth inning. However, Shea was left stranded both times. Taconite left five runners in scoring position during the game.
Tyler Peterson pitched lights out for Taconite. Proctor managed just two hits off of Peterson, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out seven during his seven innings of work.
Evan Scherber was charged with the loss. He went 6 2/3 innings, walked five, struck out 11, and allowed four runs.
In the fourth inning, Proctor pushed across its only run of the day on a sacrifice fly by Scherber.
