Ancient Edwards Family Hopscotch
Recipe
(with modern updates)
Also known as "Haystacks" in some circles
Take your favorite big red microwave safe mixing bowl and
plop in 1/2 cup of peanut butter and a six ounce package of
butterscotch chips. Toss it in the microwave and melt it. Don't
over do it..just enough to melt it, but not get it super hot! Stir
until blended. Then toss in 2 cups of chow mein noodles and two cups
miniature marshmallows, and stir 'em in till they are well coated.
Grab a couple big ol' tablespoons and scoop out blobs of the mixture
and plop 'em on wax paper covered cookie sheets. Chill till set.
Eat. The key here is to not have the melted peanut butter/chips
mixture to hot so the marshmallows don't melt into the mixture. This
is the true test of a decent hopscotch. I recommend that you double
the amounts listed here so you can make a bigger batch. The more the
merrier!
We make 'em at Christmastime. But trust me, they're just
as good any other time too.
