On a 4-1 vote, the Greenway School Board approved a new math curriculum during the school board meeting Wednesday night. There will be new textbooks and/or electronic textbooks for 5th and 6th graders for the upcoming year. Teachers and administrators heard a presentation on the Tuesday and were sold on the teaching system, according to Principal Jeff Britten.
Board member Bob Schwartz said he was concerned about training teachers so close to the start of school and the price. A five year license will cost the district about seventy-five thousand dollars. Superintendent David Pace said the one time cost will come out of reserves- either this year or next. Director Gary Gustason was absent with notice.
