At Mondays City Council meeting, the city passed a resolution approving a property exchange with Independent School District 318. The district will get land from the city for the new school, in return the City will take the Forest Lake and Riverview school sites. Mayor Adams said there are still some hoops to jump through, but the process is on track.
Mayor Adams reminded the public that the many trail systems in our area are starting to clear up for public use. “Snow is going down. The trails and paths around Grand Rapids will soon be calling all of you to get out and bike, or walk, or rollerblade to take advantage of the opportunity to see many different parts of the city”. And, Jeff Davies gave his final department head report for Public Works before his retirement.
As of March 19th, we had 75.6” of snowfall this year. The record amount of snowfall was in 2013 when 109” was recorded.
Also the council approved the purchase of a Gas Monitor for the Fire Department.
