At Mondays City Council meeting, Fire Chief Travis Cole was in for a department head report. They have responded to 122 calls to date this year, which is in line with the previous few years. A lot of work has been put into the fire hall. They have a new floor drain system, fixed some issues with the concrete, a new garage doors, and a new roof. The council also approved the purchase of a new 115 Fire Engine which should arrive in about 8 months. The new engine replaces an old one which has been in service for over 30 years. The Fire Department does have room for a new recruit. Chief Cole “We’re gonna be looking to hire again this fall to try to get us back to 30 members if not 32. We’re always looking for new recruits age 18 and older, male and female. Get your app into the city”

Also at Mondays meeting the board approved the purchase of 6 new squad mobile computers for the Police Department.
