Three accidents over the weekend on Highway 65 sent eight people to the hospital.
Friday afternoon, a Toyota 4runner was stopped for a flagger that was stopping traffic. A Chevy S10, driven by 25 year old Anthony Peters of Braham, rear-ended the Toyota. The driver of the 4runner, 58 year old David Rice of Chanhassen, was not injured. A passenger in the Rice vehicle, 56 year old Karen Rice, was taken to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital in Grand Rapids. The driver of the S10 was taken to Fairview hospital in Hibbing.
Also Friday afternoon, Volkswagon Golf, driven by 64 year old Victoria Tratter of Plymouth, was traveling south on Highway 65 in Spalding Township when her vehicle left the roadway and rolled. Tratter was taken to Riverwood Hospital in Aitkin with non-life-threatening conditions.
Sunday morning, a one vehicle accident sent three to the hospital. A Ford Explorer, driven by 35 year old Christine Polliard of Anoka, was traveling on Highway 65 in Shamrock Township when the vehicle left the roadway. Polliard, a passenger identified as 34 year old Robert Polliard, and a one year old infant, was all taken to Riverwood Hospital in Aitkin with non-life-threatening injuries.
